How Alignora Works
Understanding the Method Behind the Checkup
Alignora is built on a transparent governance method. Here is how the checkup works, how scores are determined and what the assessment does and does not cover.
What the checkup evaluates
The Alignora AI Governance Checkup evaluates your organization’s AI practices across nine areas: AI system purpose, people and decisions affected, data and privacy, transparency and disclosure, accuracy and testing, human oversight, accountability, workforce adaptation, and monitoring and incident response.
How answers affect preliminary scoring
Each question is scored as Yes (full credit), Partially (half credit), No (no credit), Not Sure (partial credit) or Not Applicable (excluded from the score). Category scores are the average of answered questions within that category. The overall governance readiness score is the average of all category scores.
What mandatory risk factors exist
The preliminary risk category considers whether the AI may affect rights or access to important services, whether sensitive personal data is involved, and whether meaningful human oversight is in place. These factors can elevate the risk category regardless of the overall readiness score.
Why high-impact uses receive additional scrutiny
AI systems that affect employment, insurance, credit, healthcare, education or access to services carry greater responsibility. The checkup gives these uses additional attention because the potential for harm is higher.
Why workforce adaptation is included
Responsible AI governance is not only about technology. Alignora evaluates whether employees are being informed, trained and prepared to work alongside AI, and whether meaningful human judgment is being preserved.
What the assessment does not determine
The checkup does not provide legal advice, certification, government approval or a guarantee of compliance. It does not evaluate specific AI models or technical implementations in detail. It is a preliminary governance-readiness tool, not an official regulatory assessment.
How users can correct their answers
You can return to the checkup at any time to review and update your answers. Your progress is saved automatically. When you complete the checkup, your results reflect the answers you provided at that time.
How reports are generated
Your Alignora AI Governance Checkup Report is generated from your checkup responses. It includes your preliminary risk category, governance readiness score, category breakdown, strengths, risk flags, recommended actions and a full record of your assessment responses.
The Alignora scoring model is not an official government standard. It is a practical governance-readiness tool designed to help organizations identify priorities and take meaningful next steps. Results should be reviewed by qualified legal, technical and governance professionals.
